CONSTRUCTION FIELD GUIDE
Construction daily reports.
Make the day clear.
Record the work, crews, conditions and interruptions while the details are fresh. Use facts, locations and quantities so the next person can understand what happened.
Read the daily report guideHow do I write a construction superintendent daily report?
Write a factual record of that day’s work: where it happened, which crews were present, what they completed, and what affected progress. Add weather, deliveries, inspections, delays and follow-up actions. Distinguish what you observed from what someone reported, and review the record before distributing it through your project’s agreed process.
- Identify the day and job. Record project name, date, shift, report author and relevant weather conditions.
- Record resources and progress. List trades, crew counts and equipment; describe work by area or grid line, with quantities and units when known.
- Capture events with context. Note deliveries, inspections and instructions with times, locations and reference numbers. Record a delay’s observed start, finish and affected activity without guessing its cause.
- Assign follow-up. Identify the open question, responsible person and needed response date. Reference the RFI, inspection record or approved change where one exists.
- Review and file. Check names, times and quantities against notes and tickets. Link authorized photos and supporting records in your project system. Follow the project’s distribution and correction procedure.
Worked example: a short daily entry
Illustrative example, not an actual project record: November 4, day shift, warehouse slab area B. Six concrete crew members placed 24 yd³ between grids B2–B4 from 08:00 to 11:30; quantity checked against delivery tickets. Pump stopped 09:10–09:35 while the crew cleared a blocked line; placement resumed at 09:35. No conclusion about schedule impact recorded. Foreman to confirm tomorrow’s pump setup before the 07:00 coordination meeting. Attach the authorized tickets and location photos in the project record.
Keep the entry specific enough for a colleague who was not on site to understand it. “Concrete work ongoing” does not identify the area, quantity or interruption. Record only information you can support; leave unknown details open for verification.
Limits and related tools
A daily report supports project documentation; it does not replace required safety notifications, inspection records, contract notices or incident procedures. Follow the contract and your organization’s rules for confidential or personal information. Use the concrete quantity calculator for planning estimates, and distinguish estimated quantities from delivered or installed quantities in the report.

Common questions
Can I create a report on this page?
No. Daily Sooper Report App is not available here yet. The signup form registers launch interest and does not create an app account.
Should a report include assumptions?
Label estimates and secondhand information clearly. Record observations separately from conclusions, identify the source, and correct mistakes through the project’s recordkeeping process.
What if no work took place?
Record the date and known reason for inactivity when your project requires a daily record. Do not invent crew hours or progress to fill an empty report.

About the first 100 offer
What does free for life mean?
The first 100 people who join the Daily Sooper Report App interest list receive free lifetime access to that app—not a temporary trial.
How are the first 100 identified?
Existing signups are included in original signup-date order. New signups receive the next available place when saved. Places 1–100 carry lifetime access; later signups join the regular interest list. Duplicate emails keep their original place. Verify the same email in the app to attach your award to your account. Newsletter consent does not affect eligibility.
Does joining give me access now?
No. This is an interest list for the upcoming app release. Submitting the form does not create an app account or activate lifetime access.
Do I have to subscribe to the newsletter?
No. Newsletter consent is separate, optional, and unchecked by default. It is not a condition of the lifetime-access offer.
