How this estimate works

Straight rectangular grid, fixed tile orientation. Rows and columns are rounded up independently; perimeter cuts each consume a tile, with no offcut reuse assumed. Grout is between tiles only. Extra allowance is applied before rounding up boxes. Diagonal layouts and overlaps are not included.
